An un-insulated or poorly insulated external wall costs you money and harms the environment. On average, a home loses 30 - 40% of its heat through its walls and even more if your home is not properly insulated. Since March 2009 there is € 4000 grant aid available through the SEAI Home Energy Savings Scheme to help you improve the External Wall Insulation in your home. Even if you already have any wall insulation, you may still be losing heat if it’s damaged, less than is necessary or incorrectly installed. The growing popularity of External Wall Insulation Systems is based on the numerous advantages that this technology offers.
How SempreTherm is applied:
SempreTherm External Insulation involves fixing insulation slabs to the outer surface of the wall with mushroom fixings. The insulation is then covered with a special render to provide weather resistance. Fibreglass mesh is embedded into this render to provide strength and impact resistance completed with primer and a pre-coloured decorative acrylic, polysilicate or special brick-slip effect render (280 colours available).
SempreTherm External Insulation is NOT an expensive solution and additional problems (other than poor levels of insulation) suffered by some homes such as driving rain penetration, moisture, mildew, poor air tightness or frost damage can be solved by SempreTherm External Wall Insulation System.
